This is the story of udyogini beneficiary due to the efforts of Jnana Jyothi Financial Literacy Centre, Tiptur.
The family of Mrs. Nalina Ravish from S. Lakkihalli consists of 5 members with a small piece of land and a flour mill. She has to feed her parents, wife and daughter who was in 10th standard. Because of drought in this area they could not grow anything in the land and were in financial problems. In the meantime, she attended a Financial literacy camp conducted at S. Lakkihalli. Actually the camp was done on social benefit schemes. More than 70% were covered under PMSBY and PMJJBY in the village ( with the help of SBI BC).
In the 2nd programme conducted for Self help group, the participants were explained about income generating activities and loans available under different schemes including OD facility in PMJDY A/c, Udyogini, CMEGP,PMEGP etc. A few examples of income generating activities were also explained along with success stories, video on various SHGs.
As dairy activity is one of the main occupations in this area, Counsellor asked them to start any activity supporting dairy unit. Mrs. Nalini Ravish accepted our suggestion and wish to start a Cow feed unit. As they were having one flour mill, by getting Udyogini loan through Corporation Bank, they started Cow feed unit by adding a cleaning mill, sealing machine, weighing machine and one more flour mill exclusively for cow feed making. Along with udyogini loan, she had a working capital loan also for purchase of maize, wheat, paddy etc., essential for cow feed.
Now she has cleared 40% of loan, and her daughter is studying Paramedical course in Bengaluru. Mrs. Nalina Ravish expressed her thanks to Jnana Jyothi Financial Literacy Centre and Corporation Bank for the timely advice/help.
